About project

The Peryklina Żar concession area, totaling 1184 sq. km, is located near Żary in Lubusz Voivodship. The discoveries of the copper and silver deposits were made here by Amarante’s geologist team in 2014. As part of the project, 30 wells have been drilled with depths ranging from 650 to 1100 metres.

All fieldwork was supervised by the District Mining Office. In addition, Amarante has regularly submitted the exploration results and geological samples obtained to the Polish Geological Institute, which is an agency of the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

In December 2018, Amarante prepared the documentation for the Żary deposit of category D, an initial category of deposit documentation in accordance with the regulations in force in Poland. The reserves within the documented deposit totaling an area of 2,430 hectares amount to 1,276 thousand tons of copper and 5.8 thousand tons of silver. However, a body of exploration work results which still awaits documentation demonstrates that the final reserves within the Żary deposit will be much larger.
